Sherry Buckbinder and Barker were Make-A-Wish Ambassadors until Barker's passing earlier this year.

In honor of Ambassador Barker who passed away from a rare nerve cancer April 6, 2010,  the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America has honored the memory of Ambassador Barker, a canine ambassador for the Foundation.  Utilizing the Wishes Forever® endowment campaign our goal is to build a wish in perpetuity fund to honor the memory of Ambassador Barker and grant wishes for service and therapy dogs across the country, forever.  The name of the fund is "The Ambassador Barker Wish in Perpetuity Fund".  AKA "Barker's fund".  Ambassador Barker's legacy will live forever through the Make-A-Wish Foundation®

Sherry has donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America Barker's blue Make-A-Wish/Wags-For-Wishes vest, his collar and custom 20" leather leash, which was only used while visiting our wish kids in hospitals.  The Foundation has honored Ambassador Barker by displaying his possessions at national. Everyone who visits the national office located in Phoenix, AZ. will get to see the vest Barker wore during so many wishes, visiting with our wish kids and families, Wags-For-Wishes® in California and Arizona, and for all other Make-A-Wish special events.

Sherry cried tears of joy as she left Barker's things behind.  It brings her much joy knowing thousands of people who visit our national office will get to see part of Ambassador Barker's magic when they look at his blue

Make-A-Wish/Wags-for-Wishes vest and his other belongings displayed there. Sherry is deeply touched by what the Foundation has done to honor the memory of  Barker.  She never could have imagined any of this was possible.  Sherry is so proud the wonderful work of all service and therapy dogs is recognized through this campaign, not only the work of Ambassador Barker.
